Greetings!  I know, its been awhile.  Busy, busy, busy.  But, I think it's time to take a moment to reflect on current events.  Nope, I'm not gonna say it (shhhh, you know the "C" word).

For those of you that know me, my son is a competitive swimmer and is graduating this June.  He just finished a great high school season with an awesome 4th place medal at state and has been training to obtain a qualifying Olympic Trials time.  This weekend was to be his final Senior State Championship in Indy with finals being contested in long course meters.  This would have given him several opportunities to swim his best events and possibly obtain his qualifying time for trials.

Unfortunately, I got the email yesterday afternoon that the decision was made to cancel the Senior & Age Group State competitions.  All of us parents suffer with our kids as you know, and the news was devastating to say the least.  Yes, there are more meets scheduled (will they be held?) but in the meantime, we need to keep healthy perspective on the "C" situation.  My son?  He was disappointed, but understands and has a great attitude about it all.

Even though events are being cancelled all around us, our scheduled events are still being held!

This Saturday is our March MQ club meeting and the first meeting for HQ's Ruler of the Month club 6.  I do have rulers and all information about the associated project.  It really looks like fun and I look forward to completing the project.  If you don't know what MQ club is, we meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 10am - 12pm.  We bring projects to share for Show N Tell, demo the current ruler (this month ROTM6 ruler 1), demo a technique or issue on either the long arm or domestic.  This isn't just for long arm quilters.  If you quilt on a sit down, please come and as lot of the techniques that we use (rulers!) also apply to your type of quilting!

Also, we still have tickets on sale for Rob Appell - Making it Fun! on April 6th @ 7:00pm.  Tickets are $10 for the trunk show and we will open the shop afterwards.  Also, we have Essenhaus Family Style Chicken Dinner tickets on sale for $21.50 and we will be eating @ 5:00pm before the show.  All in all, it will be a great quilty time!

FYI - this from an email from Rob about scheduled shows:  "Thank you all for your fast replies and encouraging words. I was able to meet with Michael today and we discussed in detail our plan for the Trunk Shows in March and April. As I said the Show must Go ON!".

Now, on to other news at the shop.  We are still sewing away on samples with new fabric!  Yes, you heard me right, we have NEW fabric!  Some of the new fabrics that we've received:  Michael Miller Fairy Frost, Michael Miller Cotton Couture (solids), Love Letters from Windham, Handsome from Windham, New Dream Big colors, 2 of the Keep Dreaming (60" wide Dream Big panels) and 4 of the Dream Big Dance, new wide backs, and a couple of HUGE panels from Robert Kaufman:  Picture this Dinosaurs & Stargazers.  Those panels are 84" x 108".  Add batting, backing, and quilting and you've got a super fast quilt!

Anyway, lots of sewing, quilting and general fun going to happen come rain or shine, sickness or health, in other words, remember who's in control!
